There are a number of fouls in soccer that resort to a freekick for the opposition. The main fouls Holdingare: kicking, hitting, tripping, handling, holding, and jumping at.

Defensive Skills

There are three different types of freekicks.

Direct Freekick
FreekickThe direct freekick is taken from one point where the foul took place. A goal can be scored directly. The ball does not have to touch another player.

Penalty Kick
If a foul takes place in the penalty area, a penalty kick is awarded. This is also a direct kick, however it is taken from the penalty spot.

Indirect Freekick
Certain other fouls result in an indirect freekick. To score an indirect freekick, the ball must touch one player before entering the goal.
