The Soccer Kit

Soccer Jersey
Every player must wear the team shirt. The chosen material and option of having long or short sleeves is up to the team. There must be a number on the back of your shirt to make things easier for the officials.

Soccer Shorts
The team shorts must all be the same colour. There is the option of having stripes or designs on your shorts, along with the option of having numbers on them.

Soccer Socks
Team socks must also be the same colour as your team mates. Socks should be pulled up just below the knee.

Soccer Shin Guards
Shin guards are a very important part of a players equipment and should always be worn. They are very light, easy to get used to, and most importantly protect you.

Soccer Boots
Soccer boots are the most important part of a players kit. They are the tools of a soccer players trade and should be looked after carefully. There are two types of boots.

One has screw in studs on the sole, which are used for wet weather conditions to prevent you from slipping. The other type have a moulded sole, which are used in dry weather to give better traction on a harder ground.

How it has changed

In the early days players wore lace up shirts, long shorts, and heavy boots. This has changed dramatically, today players are much faster and can move around easier thanks to streamlined and lightweight gear.
